Schoolof Pharmaceutical Science, one of the second-grade schools, was founded in 1975 and named as SPS in 1999. With the development of three decades, SBMS has 94 faculty members, among which 19 are professors, 28 are associated professors; 11 doctoral degree holders and 5 postdoctors. SPS is well known for its strong competence in the scientific research. It has opened up a set of specialties, including Chinese Traditional Medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Preparation, etc. Two specialties (Traditional Chinese Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry) were granted to award master’s degree.

The school comprises 12 departments, 2 laboratory centers, 2 administrative offices, 1 specimen museum and 2 medicinal plant gardens.The value of teaching and experimental equipment has reached over 11, 000, 000.
